Bradford Children and Families Trust and Bradford Council are Fostering Friendly employers.
Foster for Bradford, the fostering arm of Bradford Children and Families Trust, needs to recruit more full-time and part-time foster carers. We believe that many of the people who work for the Trust and the Council have the potential to make a difference in the lives of local children and young people.
Working for a Fostering Friendly employer means that you will be supported with paid time off to support your assessment, approval and post-approval fostering requirements such as training or new placement support. You will need your manager’s approval, which will often depend on your service’s needs, but one of the fostering assessment team managers will support you to negotiate this.
Bradford Council’s policy is called Time Off for Foster Carers. Bradford Children and Families Trust’s policy is called Foster Carers and Kinship Foster Carers Leave Policy. Both policies apply to mainstream and kinship foster carers.
If you can’t foster yourself, do you know someone who you think would be an amazing foster carer? Foster for Bradford will reward you with a £50 shopping voucher if you refer someone who goes on to complete a home visit to become a Foster for Bradford foster carer (this does not apply to kinship foster care). The enquirer must mention they have been referred by you in either the enquiry form or first phone call with the Foster for Bradford recruitment officer for you to receive the shopping voucher. This reward is not open to colleagues working in Foster for Bradford.
