Congratulations to two Trust colleagues who have won the Children’s Social Work Matters (CSWM) Yorkshire and the Humber Children’s Social Work Award in consecutive months.
Hendre Loots, Level 3 Social Worker won the August award and Tracy Wickett, Team Manager within the south locality won the September award. The CSWM Awards are a monthly award that celebrates social workers who go above and beyond, with the winner being picked by guest judges – senior colleagues from different local authorities.
The responses from the judges on why Hendre and Tracy were chosen for the awards shines a light on the fantastic work and commitment they each give to the children, families and colleagues they support.
For Hendre’s award, judges Roxanne Kirby and Karen Everatt stated,
There were many strengths within the nominations, and it was a delight to read about each social worker’s dedication and commitment. Among the nominees, Hendre Loots particularly stood out. The volume of feedback received from a wide range of Hendre’s colleagues and peers was impressive.
Hendre is clearly extremely well thought of by both colleagues and children and families. It was evident that Hendre embodies the core values of social work, including inclusiveness, kindness, and professional generosity and therefore we feel he is a well-deserved winner of the August award. For Tracy’s award, judges Farrah Khan and Donna Williams stated,
Tracy has evidenced cultural change and shown inspiring leadership that has transformed practice in her team and is also influencing practice in other parts of the service.
She is challenging professionals respectfully whilst ensuring that families and children are seen and provided with opportunities to grow and make positive changes to their lives.
Tracey is a role model to her workers and raising the profile of the organisation – well done Tracy.
